The photographer
Real talk? I'm a beautiful mix of contradictions - crushing CrossFit workouts one day and melting into spa treatments the next. I'm that creative soul who couldn't draw a stick figure to save her life, and a mom who somehow juggles running a business while building block towers with my littles ✨
But here's what really matters: I go with the flow, keep the patience flowing (thanks, mom life!), and always find the silver lining in every moment. Give me genuine conversations and real connections over perfect poses any day.
Here's the thing about photography - it's so much more than just clicking a button. Sure, you get gorgeous photos at the end, but what we're really creating? That's magic. It's those belly laughs, those tear-filled happy moments, and all the real, unscripted bits in between 🌊
I'm here to create an experience, to celebrate whatever chapter of life you're in - whether that's saying 'I do' on the beach or snuggling your newborn at home. Because at the end of the day, it's all about connection and creating memories that'll make your heart skip a beat for years to come.
A bit about my journey: At 28, I'm a proud mama of two and a Mount Allison University grad who's been in love with photography since my boarding school days in New York. Back in 2012, I discovered my passion in a beautiful digital and darkroom studio, and I haven't put my camera down since. Now, I get to chase my dreams while chasing my littles - and I wouldn't have it any other way ✨
My journey to become an entrepreneur
My love affair with photography started with a Canon DSLR on my 16th birthday (thanks, Dad!). Despite being a self-proclaimed science nerd, I found myself diving headfirst into art class at boarding school. Those three years shaped my creative foundation, culminating in a pretty epic senior project where I created life-sized portraits using cyanotype exposure ✨
Like many of us, I followed the 'expected' path and headed to university. At Mount Allison, I dove deep into Psychology and Biochemistry, keeping my camera as a trusted sidekick through those four years. Then 2020 hit - you know, that wild pandemic year - and life took some interesting turns through odd jobs until I found myself on maternity leave.
Here's where the magic happened: Bringing my son home from the hospital was more than just becoming a mom - it was my lightbulb moment. I knew in my heart I needed to find a way to stay home with him. Sure, I knew photography, but running a business? That was a whole new adventure. I used my maternity leave to build up my courage (and my business know-how), launching Moment Photography in 2022 🌊
Fast forward to now, and I'm living that beautiful chaos of being both a full-time mama and entrepreneur. It's busy, it's full, and it's exactly where I'm meant to be. The best part? My journey into motherhood became this incredible path to connecting with amazing clients through photography.
Turns out, sometimes the most unexpected paths lead us exactly where we need to be. Now I get to capture those same precious moments for other families while creating my own with my littles at home - and I wouldn't have it any other way ✨
