The Storyteller Workshop

On June 2nd 2024 I was a lucky attendee of Sherry Brown’s Storyteller Workshop, a content day of shooting beautifully curated images amongst other talented wedding photographers in Moncton New Brunswick.

Our evening was held at the Cidery 51, a new luxurious wedding venue just outside of Moncton NB. There is nothing else quite like it in New Brunswick, sitting on the hilltops of Lutes Mountain with a picturesque view of the sunset. The Napa architecture, big windows and modern look are a wedding photographer’s dream.

The decor of the evening was curated by Palmer events and Seche Florals, who together created a luxury bright garden set, with hints of pink and gold. Their attention to detail and planning of this design created a unique and beautiful collection. The florals complemented the custom made cake from Wild Flour Sweets and Treats, a St John based bakery.

Sherry coordinated with two beautiful couples to model for us, who did a great job in front of a handful of cameras. Each photographer had the opportunity to prompt and pose the couples, giving the results above of an abundance of creativity and minds working together. Sherry organized different scenes typical of a wedding day, including a first look, walk down the aisle, cake cutting and champagne tower.

Content days are an excellent way to build confidence, test new skills and meet other photographers. You get too see how others in the industry prompt and pose the couple, watch the angles other photographers take and ask questions to each other. The value behind the experience of attending a content day far outweighs the cost of attending. And the best part is walking away with a dreamy album full of content to share.
